It's done when it's done; Mesmer Published

Finally!

The long-awaited 8th class of Guild Wars II is released. The Mesmer! But... What is the Mesmer? To answer this question I will try to analyze what we've seen in the Skill-Preview in relation to what the Mesmer was in Guild Wars1.
So in the first scene we see the Mesmer using some kind of AoE Stealth. Personally, I didn't expect any other class to use stealth except thiefs since we are kinda used to this by other games (Ok in WoW Mage could youse Invisibility, too). Even tho the Butterflies don't really fit to a spell used by a charr it looks quite revolutionary. We've never seen an AoE Stealth spell in any other game and I'm curious about how it will effect the game mechanics of PvP (Especially in BoK if you capture a point and AoE stealth with your Allies).

Also taken from WoW's mage is the next spell (jk;)). Somehow comparable to the mirror images. While in WoW the mirror images were quite weak it seems like the one's of the mesmer are more powerful, even tho they disappear after killing the target~

With the next skills we actually get more closer to what the mesmer was in GW1. An illusionist working with interrupts, mirages, weakening effects and energyburns. Again it's not a singletarget effect but an AoE which cripples the enemy target.

The last scene is again something completely new to a mesmer. Compared to GW1 they really seem to have improved alot. It kinda looks like mixed up with an assassin. While seeing the mesmer teleporting around looking like a really fast paced class and tricky class I'm fairly sure this will be my choice and I'm really excited to see tomorrow's infos about its skills and story on the official guildwars site.
